High Adventure – Trail Hiking In The Sierras!

Hiking in the Sierras is a trail hikers dream come true! And because of our location in the heart of the Sierras, we have plenty of great hiking right here on our property. We’re surrounded by tall, thick, pine forests and you never have to leave the campground to find incredible natural beauty.

We’re just outside of the El Dorado National Forest which has hundreds of miles of beautiful hiking trails. Since we’re just a short distance from South Lake Tahoe, you can explore the vast beauty of the lake and surrounding areas there as well.

The mountains and forests around Ghost Mountain RV Campground are home to a wondrous array of wildlife and flora, and if you enjoy photography, hiking in the Sierras is a picture-taking mecca!

We went to the park for two weeks over the 4th of July holiday. The park was recently purchased by Colorado River Experience. I’m giving the park 4 stars because I was definitely impressed and will be going back soon. They will earn their 5 stars when the complete their future projects they intend to do to make the park even nicer.

Since our previous visit over the Memorial Day weekend there has been a lot of improvements made and tuning the place. Our 5 yr old grandson and our 31 yr old disabled Son camped with us. The Staff at Ghost Mountain Ranch is very accommodating and friendly. The kids club was great!

The employees really try to make everyone feel like one of the family. Almost every night there is some sort of activity to join in if you like. My son loved karaoke night. They then had a DJ for an outdoor dance.

There are a lot of trails & roads within the property you can explore. My legs and butt feel like I walked all of them but in reality we hardly even started! The trails could be cleaned up a bit as far as brush removal and marking them. Maybe adding some signage but this did not impact my review at all.

Great family fun. Horseback riding, camping, swimming, hiking. Beautiful area halfway between Sacramento and South Lake Tahoe.

Myra was great! Wonderful selection of art activities for young children / teens. Greeting was friendly and warm. Liz remembered us and gave us each a hug. Dinner was delicious. Bathrooms were clean and maintained. Looking forward to the use of the beautiful blue pool and restock of the fish for fishing in the pond this spring.

I would just like to let you know what a great staff of hard workers you have here at Ghost Mountain. Tim and his wife Denise Graham both work from dawn to dusk doing whatever is necessary to make this park run smoothly. They, along with their staff, handle members and potential members, who are often angry and unhappy,with the greatest respect and diplomacy. They are all working very hard to bring this park up to what it should be. What great potential. We were here in Oct. 2012 and can see much improvement since then.
